Andre Borell

Driven by a lifelong love of the ocean, Andre witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of the shark nets in Australia and vowed to make a positive change. This journey started by making the investigative documentary Envoy: Shark Cull (2021), which is now on Netflix and Stan. During this process he was introduced to Haydon Burford, the investor of Shark Stop, a shark bite resistant wetsuit fabric. Andre became an early stage investor in Shark Stop to help Haydon commercialise his invention, and is now heading up the company in a bid to protect surfers, divers and other ocean users from the risk of fatal shark bite. Shark Stop aims to help people fear less, enjoy the ocean more, and ultimately - create more advocates for planet ocean.
